Feels Like the Post-Chemo Blues!

It’s Friday night, 2 days after chemo and I’m doing pretty well. I was able to drive the boys to school and drive to work again on Thursday and spent about 4 hours with Bharath and Mike interviewing a potential new senior employee. It was great to participate in something significant at work. Driving home I was pretty tired. I spent the rest of the day in bed, feeling weak with nausea and lots of aches and pains. I had a hard time going to sleep and ended up walking around the room for a long time until I finally felt like I could go to sleep.

The frustration continued with TGen trying to get Dr Von Hoff and Dr Lee connected by phone to talk about the DNA analysis of the tumors. They finally talked yesterday. I’m not sure if it makes much difference since we have already made the change in chemo back to Taxol. I suppose it may be handy if I have a neuropathy reaction to the Taxol.

Today was a surprise. I fully expected that my chemo flu-like symptoms were going to continue but I actually felt pretty good. I slept quite a bit but did squeeze a walk in with our pug Indy late afternoon. Walking one block it was clear the great energy I had earlier in the week was gone.

Tonight we went out to dinner at Azteca Mexican Restaurant- Johnny, Heather, my nieces Chris and Heather, as well as Zack and Sarazteca.jpgah. We had so much fun laughing and telling stories I forgot my aches and pains. I just love when I can get out and have fun and feel completely normal for a few hours or days. Here is a picture of the whole gang at Azteca. Bo had a sleepover at his friend James and missed the fun.

I am hoping to have more energy over the weekend- after all it is Mother’s Day on Sunday. A dear friend from Washington DC is also coming to visit on Sunday.

God is Good, All the Time, God is Good!
