This new report from Heather as of 9am today.

After examining all the lab tests and CT scan results, the NWH medical team has identified the problem that has caused the serious pains in Don’s breathing: a blood clot in the lungs. He has a collapsed lung and considerable fluid as well. They have put him on medication that will “melt” the clot. Dr. Bill Ehni (infectious diseases) will see Don later and try to figure out some antibiotics (through IV) that will treat the liver infection issue better.

Dr. Doug Lee told Don and Heather early this morning that there have been some very difficult things going wrong in Don’s body, and he is amazed that Don was even able to walk around the past few days. Dr. Lee’s words in reference to the lungs & liver infection: Don, today is the 1st day of your recovery. These words hold great comfort.

Being in the hospital is not fun, but it is where Don can be given the intensive and direct treatment he needs to fight these very troubling side battles, so he can recover his strength to continue to fight the cancer.

Skip, for Don & Heather

Don and Heather….you are on our hearts as always. Everytime I drive by or walk by your house, I bathe you in prayer. Your boys as well. God’s mighty strength will sustain you. His people will uplift your weary arms for the battle while you rest in Him. Love, Marilyn

OK…I’m new at this so this may be a repeat. But I guess you can’t hear enough that people are praying for you and uplifting your weary arms for the battle while you rest in Him. I bathe you and your family every time I drive or walk by your home, which is often. The joy of the Lord is our strength. May His Joy and His Love permeate your very being. Love, Marilyn

Don, Thinking and praying for you this morning and this scripture is what the Lord put on my heart. Isaiah 40:31 ..but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strenth. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Sooo I am “hoping” that I get another report soon that you are soaring! Hope to see you at Whidby so that I can tell you a Canlis/Agros miracle!

    Don & Heather,
All here @ Agros are posted and in prayer, grateful you’ve some further clarity of the internal war going on and praying for a “clot melt”…not exactly what you were hoping would be served up for lunch…but on the other hand that would be “just what the doctor ordered” and so we’re praying accordingly! Be of good cheer…you’re overcomers, both of you!

Don, the Spirit led me a specifically to claim healing from your infection this morning and then later Wes and I agreed together for this healing. It was great to get your email after that, especially Dr. Lee’s comment: “Don, today is the 1st day of your recovery.” Praise God.

First I have to say when prayer comes in large amounts it is a wonder what it can do.
Next I have to ask if you would think about becoming a writer for a hospital drama episode. You would be great.

Heather, it’s June! I recently found out about Don’s ongoing and amazing fight with cancer. Believe it or not, I have read this entire blog and it has been so inspirational.

It’s a terrible way to update about the boys and you, but if it’s what brings us together, then so be it. I’d love to see you when you have time. I’d love to offer respite and any help you need. I know it’s hard to ask but hey, how many people have you known since you were 12!

I’m here for ya. Was then, still am today. Much love. I’m thinking about you guys so much. Let’s talk soon. And can’t end without the requisite “GADS!” You are an equal and powerful partner in this. He’s very lucky to have you.
