Saturday turned out to be a beautiful and sunny day in Seattle. I had lots of friends visit, including Skip, Anita, Jack and Marianne, James, Al and Doris and finally Phil. While the days started with very few flowers, by the end of the day all my tables were filled with flowers and I was able to get in several laps walking around the floor and my legs have felt pretty strong.

I thought today might be a good day for a new video blog. I hope you enjoy the content and are are able to leave a few comments. Have a great Sunday!

God is Good, All the Time, God is Good

    Hi Don,

Mike and I just watched your video. What a neat way to communicate. What interesting lessons we are all learning through your experiences. Certainly hope you have an enjoyable 4th on Whidbey and are on the mend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Don and Heather, It is a really great to hear that you are doing better. Maddy and I are wanting to come for a visit, but we don’t want to be in the way. Don I dont have your cell number and you said to call first. Maybe you could call us or Heather could? We have a baby class tomorrow in Issaquah ending at 1pm and then we could come out? would that work? either way we are thinking of you and pray that you have pain relief. 206-399-2057 Love Lisa and Maddy.

I kinda had a feeling you’d post a video today… Yup. You looked THAT good! Hope the cherries worked their magic. Good overview… I think I’m starting to get it. 🙂 Just really glad that God gets it more than I do and that He’s far more skilled in fixing you than I could ever be. Gotta feel good to have those great connections. Hope you’re able to catch a few sunsets… they’ve really been great lately… .. .

    Hi Don,
It took this oldtimer awhile to discover how to view your video. But, it was worth the struggle. Just to see you alert and looking better is worth the effort. Remember that God has a plan for everything and I believe part of His plan for you is to reach out to each of us to recognize God and that He is good. Take care and especially enjoy the Sound. Don:
Thanks for the update via video blog. When I first heard about the clot(s) in your lung, I immediately wondered if they were in the area of the tumor…thinking this could be a positive in the middle of an apparent negative. As an explanation, as you may recall, one of the trends in tumor therapy has to do with selectively shutting down blood supply to the tumor and killing it that way…so perhaps…this may all have a postive effect. Today and tomorrow we are celebrating Canada Day…and I really hope you can get out to do your July 4 celebration.
    Many prayers….and thoughts…for your healing.
Love to Heather and the boys (ahh…young men).

    Hey friend,
Marilyn and I just returned from a great afternoon at Safeco watching the Mariners win in the bottom of the 9th..their 8th straight W! Mike Hargrove, the manager, as you probably have heard, resigned this morning for personal reasons. It seems to me to be a courageous decision. All of this played into interesting emotions at the game for many fans.

Your video blog is so helpful. Thanks for the update. We are so grateful that you weathered through this last valley and that the physical and psychological pains have subsided. We will now join you in praying for a great time for you and your family on the 4th on Whidbey. We are solidly in your corner and believe with you that God is walking you through this challenge with infinite wisdom and great intent. Love to all the Valencias. Jeff & Marilyn

Don – it is SO GREAT to be able to catch back up w you via the blog. We just returned from Europe yesterday after some unforseen delays, and we had been without internet access for our final two weeks there. I’ve just read through all the things I missed in your journey during that time. Wow – what an experience you have been through. We continued to pray for you and the family nightly and I cannot describe the encouragement I feel reading through your experience over the past week plus. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and praying about my own walk and path and your experience puts so many things in perspective for me and has really helped me to also listent to God better and “let go”. I’m continuing to have time off w family and will be looking to come see you live and in person very very soon now that I’m back. Have a fantastic 4th w the family.
    Blessings to you
    Greg

    Hey Don,

You are quite the trooper. I love your honesty and candor. You are so right in saying that our Lord has so much to teach us about who’s really in control. You would think that we’d all know by now. Duh! I am loving the video blog. It is so much more personal. Know that you, Heather, Johnny and Bo are on my prayer list and I am interceeding for you regularly. Love ya bro.
