Don has flown the coop! He left the hospital around noon to catch a Kenmore Air flight, but they only got as far as Port Ludlow because of bad weather. When I talked to him just a few minutes ago (6pm PDT) he had made it up to Victoria and cleared Canadian customs. They are still hopeful of the weather clearing so he arrives in Malibu tonight. We’ve all been praying for Don’s battle against cancer and infection, now let’s pray for some clear weather! Remember, this is/will be a surprise to Heather and the boys when he arrives. He has experienced some pain, and has taken some morphine. The pain comes in part from so much activity to get up to Malibu after being mostly inert in a hospital bed for so much of the past 2 weeks. But let’s rejoice in the fact that he’s even on this adventure to join his family.

Don- I am hopeful that you are at Malibu as I write this Thursday morning. Here is a second quote for you from “Everything Belongs:”

“The ordinary path [to the Center] is a gradual awakening…. for some reason we prefer fabricated realities to the strong face of what is…. [yet] in God’s reign everything belongs.

“We get trapped [on the circumfrence rather than in the Center]… traps of mind and ideology…[which] are as blinding as the so-called ‘hot sins’ of the drunkards and prostitutes, though they are harder to recognize….

“Most of us have to be taught how to see…. True seeing is the heart of spirituality.”
